The Family Emergency Binder: refunds and license

Refunds. You have 30 days from the day you buy the binder to ask for a full refund, no questions asked. Reply to your receipt email or use the contact page, and we will refund the full price you paid.

License. The binder is for personal household use. Print and fill in as many copies as your household needs. Please don't resell it, give it away, or share the file with people outside your household.

Launch price. The binder is $19 at launch for a limited time. After that the price is $39.

The Family Emergency Binder: disclaimer

The binder is an organizational tool for your household. It helps you write down where important information lives, who to call, and what your family plans to do. The full disclaimer is printed inside the binder, right after the title page. In short:

Not professional advice. Nothing in the binder is medical, legal, financial, insurance, tax, or other professional advice, and it does not create a professional relationship. The Wills & Wishes section only records where your papers are kept and what you want your family to know. It does not create a will, trust, power of attorney, or any other legal document. For anything that binds you legally or affects your health, money, or property, talk to a licensed professional in your state.

Not official emergency guidance. Be Prepared For It is independent. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency or emergency services organization. In an emergency, follow local officials, emergency alerts, and first responders. If anything in your binder conflicts with what they tell you, do what they say.

Information goes out of date. Phone numbers, guidance, products, and rules change. You are responsible for checking anything that matters against current official sources and your own household's situation before you rely on it, and for keeping your binder up to date.

No warranties. The binder and this site are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or that using them will prevent any harm or loss.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Be Prepared For It and its owner are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, death, or other harm of any kind arising from buying, downloading, printing, filling out, using, or relying on the binder or this site, including anything left blank, outdated, or incorrect. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the binder. Some places don't allow certain limitations; there, they apply to the maximum extent the law allows.
